Going into this, I knew nothing about solar or battery systems. Josh took the time to explain everything clearly and presented a few different options that suited my home and energy needs. There was never any pressure to overspend or be upsold, just honest advice and a system that was right for me. They also supplied and installed an EV charger that integrates seamlessly with the solar and battery system, making everything work together perfectly. The quote was accurate, transparent, and there were no hidden costs or surprises along the way. A big shout out also goes to the installation team, led by Matt. They arrived on schedule, kept me informed of their progress, and completed the installation on my double-storey home in just two days. During the day, my home is powered by solar and the battery, and I only draw electricity from the grid overnight to take advantage of the cheaper off-peak tariffs to charge my battery and EV. We had solar panels and battery storage installed by Lightning Energy and couldn’t be happier with the result. Josh came out to visit our house before giving a quote, something a lot of other installers didn’t bother doing, which really helped us pick the right setup. Matt, the lead electrician, was fantastic, professional, punctual, and clearly knew his stuff. He walked me through the whole system, answered all my questions, and left everything clean and tidy. Quite happy with the system. George Fotopoulos patiently priced up a gazillion different options we wanted to evaluate, before landing on what I believe to be an excellent system at a fair price. Highly customized, high-quality install with the exact roof brackets we wanted, the panels installed at the angle we wanted in the exact places we wanted for easy maintenance, the battery located in the exact spot we wanted, and backup-functionality implemented the way we wanted. They were also able to flexibly push out the installation date for two weeks after a last-minute complication on our end. Only downsides were occasional confusion due to the high number of quotes floating around, but Lightning Energy were quite responsive throughout the process and afterwards.
We have just had Lightning Energy complete a 37kw solar installation with 75 solar panels and a 48kw Sigen battery solution. We would not hesitate to recommend Lightning Energy. The Lightning Energy team were among the most hardworking people I've ever encountered. I was receiving answers to queries well into the evening. They were honest if there were unforeseen delays and advised me accordingly. They were friendly and always approachable. Even after everything was concluded, they still checked in on me by their own initiative and helped me with some queries. When I compare my experience to the experiences other people have had with other companies, my experience with Lightning Energy was very clearly superior. I have already recommended them to my friends and colleagues.
We have had an EV charger installed by the Lightning Energy team first 30 months ago, then a heat-pump hot-water and split-system AC supplied & installed in March '26, and now a whole home rooftop solar and battery system supplied & installed. All communications have been clear, prompt and relevant. The advice given has been excellent while not over-catering to our requirements. They have worked hard to keep the systems affordable with all relevant rebates, and the installation work has been effective, careful and tidy.
