Betta Value Renewable Energy reviewers often name their sales consultant directly - Avik Ban and Sumit Mittal both come up - describing them as knowledgeable about panel and inverter options before installer Ali's team carries out the work. Equipment mentioned includes Jolywood panels and a Growatt inverter, and one customer notes the installation was independently checked and praised by the network inspector for its neatness. EV charging setups are also mentioned, with one reviewer using their own solar to charge an electric car for the first time. Several long-term customers report years of trouble-free operation and genuine bill savings since installation. Set against this, two more recent reviews describe deposits taken for installations that were significantly delayed, one alleging poor communication and old panels and rubbish left on site despite this being included in the contract, with a further complaint about dismissive phone support. As a solar installer in Melbourne, Betta Value Renewable Energy [BVR Energy] holds a 4.4-star average from 223 Google reviews.

4.4 / 5 · 223 total⭐☆☆☆☆ I had a very disappointing experience with BVR Energy regarding property damage caused during one of their solar installations. During the installation at a neighbouring property, a solar panel was dropped onto my roof, causing significant damage to the metal roof, including a puncture. Following subsequent rainfall, the damaged area leaked, creating concerns about further deterioration and additional repair costs. I reported the incident immediately, provided photographs, obtained the repair quotations they requested (approximately $13,000), and sent multiple follow-up emails over several weeks. I also made every reasonable effort to resolve the matter directly and professionally. Unfortunately, despite repeated follow-ups and several assurances that the issue would be addressed, I have received no meaningful response, no clear update on the insurance claim, and no resolution. Accidents can happen in any business. However, how a company responds to those accidents reflects its professionalism and integrity. Based on my experience, BVR Energy has failed to communicate, failed to take timely responsibility, and failed to resolve a legitimate property damage claim. I cannot recommend this company until it demonstrates a genuine commitment to customer service and accountability.
Avoid This Company - Deposit Held Hostage Until Regulators Got Involved I wish I could give zero stars. I signed a contract with BVR Energy (P&R United Pty Ltd) in Dec 2025 for a battery system and paid the $700 deposit. Four months later, and after constantly chasing them, I was told that the battery they quoted me on was no longer available and they offered me an inferior product for the same price. I was reluctant to accept but was chasing the May 1 deadline for the government rebate so I accepted. Again, after weeks of silence and excuses, they wanted me to pay the full amount in cash before the install to secure a date before the deadline. Dodgy as, so I was never going to agree to those terms. Finally, they admitted they couldn’t install before the deadline and only offered some vague alternative later. I cancelled immediately and requested a full refund of my deposit. They dragged their feet and didn’t refund it. I had to lodge formal complaints with Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) and the New Energy Tech Consumer Code (NETCC) before they finally paid me back - months after they had agreed to the refund. This experience showed extremely poor communication, failure to honour commitments, and a clear unwillingness to do the right thing until regulators were involved. I had to threaten VCAT action as well. Save yourself the stress and money - go with a more reliable installer who actually values their customers and doesn’t treat deposits like their own personal interest-free loan. Never again. Lesson learned the hard way.
I would start with BEWARE! - it was only with Sumit (sales) that I had a pleasant experience with - it was a disaster thereafter - the installation was delayed (4~5 months) after deposit was received - the discount of $300 as goodwill for the delay was never received or applied (email image attached) - the installation crew damaged my heating and cooling system that is has costed $800 so far - plus had to spend $180 to have my garage pedestrian door lockset repaired as the handles was forced out of place - these damages were all from the installation crew - when I raised the issue with BVR (Smita) she completely denied accountability and has since stopped responding to emails and answering my calls. Evidence they do not have any after sales service - imagine how difficult it would be if you chased warranty or service. I strongly do not recommend them - their service level and professionalism is consistently atrocious - be warned!
This company is a scam. They'll take the deposit upfront and keep delaying the installation stating supplier issues and wont refund the deposit. Reporting them to Consumers Affairs VIC and Solar VIC.
Avoid this company. We paid in full upfront and then waited over two months for installation, having to constantly chase them for updates. Communication was poor, disorganised, and frustrating from the beginning. After the installation was finally completed, they left behind the old solar panels and rubbish — despite this being clearly included in our contract. This still hasn’t been resolved. What made the situation worse was the completely unacceptable customer service. I called multiple times to have this rectified and was met with rude, dismissive behaviour and was even hung up on several times. I later received a response to my email saying the driver was “out of town” and would collect the panels on the weekend. After following up again, I spoke to the subcontractor directly, who was shockingly unprofessional. He was aggressive, dismissive, and outright said he didn’t care and would not be picking up the panels. He even challenged what we would do about it. At this point, it’s clear that once full payment was received, any sense of responsibility or basic customer respect disappeared. Blaming a subcontractor is not an excuse — the company is still accountable for the work promised. This has been a stressful, frustrating experience and I would strongly warn others to think twice before engaging with this business.
