It all started when Mafiz came door knocking and appeared genuine and trustworthy. On 23 May 2025, I paid a $1,000 deposit for a solar and battery installation. Unfortunately, the experience became extremely frustrating. The solar installation was delayed until 28 November 2025. Mafiz apologized, saying they were busy, and agreed to compensate me for the extra electricity bills caused by the delay. However, that compensation never happened. After the solar panels were finally installed, it took another month for the battery installation because they claimed there was a stock shortage. Even after the battery was installed, the job was still incomplete, and it took another month for them to send someone to fix the issues. The company also appears to subcontract the work to different installers who are always in a rush and do not complete the job properly or professionally. On top of that, Mafiz asked me for referrals and promised a $200 gift voucher. I referred a few friends, but I never received any referral gift cards either. In the end, none of the promises were honoured — no electricity bill compensation and no referral rewards. Poor communication, long delays, rushed workmanship, and broken promises. Stay away from this company.

Please do not believe these positive reviews, they're either from family, friends or bots. Mafiz will try and string you along, install an inferior product without your knowledge or just plain stop responding. After over five attempts to complete the install he had to call in assistance from a family member in Wollongong to actually complete the install. Had the audacity to knock on my door almost two years later to try and sell me a battery system even after knowing the absolutely dodgy practices he used during our first encounter.

Canberra Solar Shine installed the 6.6kw system at my house this week. These guys were very professional in explaining the system, benefits etc to me. They installed the system within 3 days after I booked. Introduced the monitoring app and helped to setup it in my mobile. Friendly and professional people. Loved the way they are doing their business.

Update: since posting this review I've been told the panel would be installed twice. No-one showed up on either date, and the company provided no communication as to why. I deal with vendors every week, and have employed plenty of tradesmen and general labourers over the past 20 years. This company is the worst I've dealt with, by a long way. They continuously provide dates and do not show up. When asked for updates they respond around 50% of the time. They said completion would occur in 2 weeks, however, after 3 months there are rails on my roof, which are an eye sore, and a loose wire hanging down over my shed, which has been compromised by the weather. In fairness the electrician, who was sub-contracted, did a good job upgrading my power board. I am trying to payout for the work their subcontractors have done so I can get a reputable company to complete the work. They have not responded to my pay out requests. For the sake of your mental health I recommend looking elsewhere.

Beware of Mafiz, I was used as a contractor and never received payment after multiple promises and no response to messages. After finally making contact I was told to wait for my money and only paid in partial payment and yet still not paid in full after 5 months. Would highly recommend not to make contact with a person of this ethic.

We engaged solar shine to install a 6.6kw system at our place. Mafiz was very responsive (I had to reach out first though but he's always quite responsive). The price was very competitive compared to other companies as well. The system works well so far. The trades were nice and efficient however they did show up quite late both times so It could be inconvenient if you don't work from home. Overall I would recommend this company.

Canberra Solar Shine did a fantastic job on my new Solar System. Mafiz was great to deal with and was very responsive with any questions I had, he provided a very fair quote and installed the system very fast. Overall I am very happy with the service and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these guys to others.
