Mildura Solar

Many years back, we had 5kW of Solar Panels installed onto our shed roof by Mildura Solar. We were happy to receive government rebates at that time as it made the 5kW system affordable for us. Every so often, I would contact Mildura Solar to enquire about installing a battery system as the feed-in tariffs kept dropping. The battery option was financially out of reach for us for many years. Fast forward to the May 2025 election result. This presented us with an opportunity to seriously consider a battery for our solar system as Labor went to the election with a 30% Battery Rebate policy. We contacted Renee and asked for her advice. Within days, Renee had prepared three options specifically for us. We realised that we would need more solar panels and prepared ourselves for a high outlay as we had already accessed solar rebates on our original system. To our surprise, we were eligible for rebates on solar panels again as it was over 10 years since we last accessed rebates. Higher panel output equalled higher rebates for us. Renee presented us with initial proposals for a 4.8kW, 6.1kW and 6.6kW solar panel system with 13.8kW of battery storage. A bit of tinkering, and changing some panel orientation, increased the efficiency of the 6.6kW system proposal. Our thinking was to take up the 6.6kW system as it may be another 10 years before we can access solar rebates, and the price difference between the three proposals was not great. After expressing our preference for the 6.6kW system with BYD battery, Mildura Solar were quick to come out and do a site inspection to confirm placement of panels and the battery. We committed once a final quote was presented. Installation commenced within weeks. The installers, Jack and Ryan, worked well together to get our solar panels installed and up and running. Our battery was installed, but couldn't be switched on until 1st July for the rebate. Our whole system is now up and running with our battery taking most of the power that would have been exported at just 1 cent per kW. It is winter, and we have had cloudy days, so the system doesn't get as much sunlight as summer, but our battery is still filling to 100% on most days. We expect it will fill to 100% every day once we stop using our air-con to heat our house during the day. When we need to cool our house in summer, there will be higher power output from the solar panels for more sunlight hours. We chose Mildura Solar to provide for our solar panel and battery needs because we have had good experiences when dealing with them on our first solar system in 2014. They have a proven track record in Sunraysia and we are glad we chose them again. Everyone we dealt with in their office, and their tradespeople, exceeded our expectations with their professionalism and dedication to our installation.

I found Mildura Solar to be very professional, at all stages: pre-installation, installation and post installation. Our 6.6kW system, with battery, has put us in credit with our energy bills ever since.

This is the second time I've used Mildura Sola, both time they have been fantastic, i couldn't recommend them enough. great communication, and information I am very very happy with there work.

Mildura Solar installed solar panels and battery storage at my house in December 2024. Nathan was very helpful in explaining the various options available to me and dealing with all the documentation requirements. The Mildura Solar team did a great job installing and commissioning the system, they were all very experienced and took great pride in their workmanship. If you're interested in a solar solution, I would recommend you talk with Mildura Solar.
